The biggest awards show took place last night at the Nokia Theatre featuring the biggest movies being recognized for outstanding achievement in the film world.
Billy Crystal hosted the ceremony for the ninth time. I honestly have to say that I enjoyed watching the
Oscars more than the Grammys, even though I hardly watched any of the films!
There were two best moments of the night for me. One was when
Octavia Spencer won Best Supporting Actress for
The Help, seeing her breakdown upon accepting her award brought tears to my eyes! Also when
Meryl Streep won for Best Actress in
The Iron Lady. After being nominated for so many times, she finally won her third Oscar. Seeing her officially be recognized for her achievements as an actress for all these years was truly heartwarming, she is such a beautiful woman.
If you missed the show last night, here are a list of the winners and the contenders in every category:
http://oscar.go.com/nomineesWho can forget the best dressed of the night?! A trend on the red carpet were the fair colors such as whites, creams, and silvers.
Octavia Spencer looked lovely in a silver sparkly Tadashi Shoji gown.
Viola Davis looked so perfect in an emerald green Vera Wang gown.
Maya Rudolph looked amazing in Johanna Johnson, I love this gown so much!
Emma Stone looked like an Oscar, but red of course in a bow necked Giambattista Valli dress.
Angelina Jolie definitely looked beautiful on the red carpet in a black Versace gown with a high slit, BUT her right leg thrusting out of every picture was not too cute...really, every picture though?
Rooney Mara is just a naturally stunning looking person. She looked so beautiful in a white Givenchy gown straight off the runway.
Jennifer Lopez was my BEST DRESSED OF THE NIGHT! She looked so stunning in this Zuhair Murad gown that fit her body so perfectly and showed off her glow so well.
I love how the creams and whites are making their way onto the red carpet, not only is it fresh but it's just perfect for Spring which is awaiting!
