Beauties at the Essence Magazine Charity Gala: Jordin Sparks, Tatyana Ali, Kelly Rowland (Who Looked Best?)

The Essence Magazine gala celebrated notable women of color, and in turn raised money to sponsor charitable organizations. The women who were there were glowing and looking their best!

Three women I chose for this post: Jordin Sparks, Tatyana Ali, and Kelly Rowland. All were spectacular in their own way. Jordin (above) wore this sparkling black number which actually was fitting for her last name, Sparks. The matching heels are a nice touch.

Tatyana Ali, from 'Fresh Prince' and TV One's "Love That Girl', had worn this gold ensemble that came together very well, her glowing skin, the hair to resemble the glamour of the '20s, the modern slash in the chest of the dress to provide a little awe at the 'creative cleavage', the gold pencil skirt, and befitting heels. I WOULD SAY SHE HAD THE BEST LOOK.

GOLD is really coming in strong for this year. We're going to see a lot of women choosing GOLD to go out on such a nice night. The value of GOLD is going up.... so why not?

Kelly Rowland: BEAUTIFUL GOLD DRESS; So-So makeup. I don't like seeing plastered makeup.

DWYANE WADE and GABRIELLE UNION On Cover of Essence; Picture-Perfect Black Couple

I swear that Gabby (Gabrielle) Union is one of the most natural beauties in the game. She is really tearing down those walls of all who were once hooked on the 'Gabrielle is MEAN' drug. That was from the many roles she played, most notably DELIVER US FROM EVA from the mid-2000s.

A far cry now that Gabrielle's in ESSENCE's February 2012 issue, huh?

Now here she is gracing her flawless brown skin, gorgeous and warm smile, and the just-right SUNNY dress to pair up to her beau, Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade. Dwyane is also known for his impeccable style; I like a LOT of what he wears. There's NOTHING WRONG with a dude stays in the latest trends.

I want to know who the stylist was... 'cuz this is just too good (I'll pick up the Essence magazine later and find out). Gabrielle's perfectly hued (not too bright yellow, not too dark yellow) draped gown has accentuated/exaggerated shoulders reminiscent of the DYNASTY days but fit for 2012.

I'm liking the background, lighting, the embrace that Dwyane and Gabrielle shared, and that subtle handkerchief that Dwyane wore bears the same color of Gabby's gown, if you look closely. I have also GOT to give it to Dwyane for the crisp haircut and line-up!

BEYONCE ESSENCE MAGAZINE COVER REVEALS WHITE FACE

Beyonce is featured on the July 2011 issue of Essence Magazine featuring her own cover story called "Eat Play Love" about her break from her busy lifestyle to focus on the simple pleasures in life: spending time with her hubby Jay-Z, her family, her nephew, having girls' night out, learning how to cook, and traveling with no agenda. Yes, she wrote the article too, now you can add Beyonce Knowles [the journalist]...

The photo shoot gives a glimpse of Beyonce's southern upbringing in Houston, Texas with a Western style theme. She looks gorgeous as always, but it's crazy how every time I see her in a photo spread or any advertisement, she looks like a white woman! I seriously thought she was a white woman when I saw these pics, her skin is lighter seems like it continues to get lighter and her hair is really blonde!

I've mentioned before her questionable blackface photo spread commemorating Fela Kuti, and I've also mentioned the rumors about her skin whitening, but seeing this spread just makes it seem true. No matter what color Beyonce was, the public loved her for her talent, not skin color. She's a beautiful and it seems confident woman, but why would she possibly go through a procedure like skin whitening? Is it true that the more "white" celebrities look, especially black celebrities, the more popular they will be? I sure hope not, but you can have a look for yourselves.
