HUNGER GAMES BRINGS OUT THE RACISM IN SOME PEOPLE...

So The Hunger Games came out last week, and everyone is basically calling it the "New Twilight". People are jumping on the bandwagon to watch the movie, and/or read the book. I actually have the series, but haven't had the "time" to devote to a trilogy like this. Making $155 million from it's opening weekend, crowned the 3rd biggest opening in movie history, behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2 and The Dark Knight.

The main character in the book and film Katniss was described as having straight black hair and olive skin, but Jennifer Lawrence (a white girl) was cast for the part, just dyed her hair dark. Rue and Thresh were described as having dark skin, but Cinna was never really specified.

As Katniss sees Rue for the first time..."…And most hauntingly, a twelve-year-old girl from District 11. She has dark brown skin and eyes, but other than that's she's very like Prim in size and demeanor…"

Then Katniss sees Thresh..."The boy tribute from District 11, Thresh, has the same dark skin as Rue, but the resemblance stops there. He's one of the giants, probably six and half feet tall and built like an ox."

But these aren't what The Hunger Games fanatics had in mind. They pictured these characters so distinct in their mind, that when they saw that these characters weren't exactly lined up to their expectations, they became enraged...more racist to be exact.

Honestly, this is really disappointing to read. I mean personally, I know racism and biases exist, but to read it in such a public sense being written all over Twitter is just disgusting. It really makes me sad for these people who have no open mind to anything in this day and age.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE WANTS TO MAKE MYSPACE A TALENT COMPETITION

Lately, there has been a lot of talk about the future of the now unpopular MySpace. Due to the competition of other social networks like Facebook and Twitter, the future of Myspace seemed dreary. But lo' behold Justin Timberlake to the rescue?!

Justin Timberlake has purchased a stake in MySpace and plans to help revitalize the failing socia network site. His plan is to turn Myspace into some sort of talent competition. Justin says, "There's a need for a place where fans can go to interact with their favorite entertainers, listen to music, watch videos, share and discover cool stuff and just connect. MySpace has the potential to be that place … I'm excited to help revitalize MySpace by using its social media platform to bring artists and fans together in one community."

His manager also talks, "Whether it becomes a talent competition or something like that, those are things that we will still flesh out. We definitely want to bring the industry back to MySpace to really look at the talented people that have put their faces there."

Well from what MySpace was as a social networking profile, it seems like it's now focusing on the music aspect of the industry to help put fans and entertainers in a similar forum. If Justin Timberlake remains to keep his lucky charms, his involvement with this venture is sure to be pure gold.

APOLOGY ACCEPTED: Rihanna and Ciara Reconcile Over Twitter War; BTW, Ciara looks great!!

Just check out the vid that sparked negative emotions between Rihanna and Ciara. It all started when Ciara appeared on "Fashion Police," one of my favorite fashion shows starring Joan Rivers.

One good thing about all of this is RECONCIALIATION. It's always good to settle things, not to be bitter. This whole brief TWITTER WAR ended on a good note. See their conversation below.
