CHRIS BROWN POLICE REPORT RELEASED
So yesterday, the excruciating detailed report of Chris Brown beating up ex-girlfriend Rihanna went public. You can read it here: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1606481/chris-brown-police-report-provides-details-altercation.jhtml
Yes, Chris Brown just won a Grammy this past weekend and I can see why the media wants to exploit him once again. And I seriously have no problem with that, because I feel no one should forget what happened that night. Yes, Chris Brown is talented, but he's a woman beater! How can you still like someone after that? I don't know about you, but that's just me.
After reading that report, I seriously felt sick to my stomach. It was definitely worse than I had imagined. I mean ladies, just put yourself in her shoes! I honestly don't know why she's still talking to him, I have cut off people for WAY WAY LESS! I feel this matter is about respectful who we are as individuals and seeing our worth. Why would anyone want to possibly go back to someone or be with someone like that with such a violent past? Say what you want, but that is not okay with me, and I'm sticking to it.

GRAMMYS 2012 RECAP
The Grammy's were this past Sunday, and there was an eerie buzz surrounding the awards ceremony which immediately followed the tragic death of icon Whitney Houston. But the show must go on, and it did. LL Cool J hosted the event and right off the bat addressed the elephant in the room by mentioning Whitney Houston's passing and saying a prayer for her.
The Grammy's this year for me were pretty boring, I didn't even know who was nominated or who were performing really. From watching the extra long broadcast which was like 3 1/2 hours, Adele definitely stole the show. She won like all the awards in every category she was nominated in and her performance was flawless, even after her vocal surgery. Jennifer Hudson also sang a tribute to Whitney Houston, which was very emotional for everyone watching. For the entire list of winners, check this link: http://www.grammy.com/nominees
Now it's time to highlight the best dressed of the night:
ADELE looked beautiful in a black sparkling Armani dress. Having her hair down for once really brought attention to her pretty face.
TAYLOR SWIFT looked amazing in a gold silk mermaid gown by Zuhair Murad, I loved the higher collar.
GWYNETH PALTROW looked so sleek in a black Stella McCartney gown. The hair slicked back definitely made this outfit look so put together.
ALICIA KEYS showed off those crazy curves in a black Alexandre Vauthier dress accented with gold jewelry.
MIRANDA LAMBERT looks pretty in a Pavoni nude evening gown that perfectly matched her golden aura.
RIHANNA looked sizzling in a custom black Giorgio Armani gown with plunging neckline and high slit. She has the perfect amount of sex appeal in this outfit without making it look overdone, MY BEST DRESSED FOR THE NIGHT!

WHITNEY HOUSTON SHOCKING DEATH!
So while I was getting ready to attend a Pre-Grammy event at Hemingway's, I heard the news from a friend that Whitney Houston passed away. At that moment on the radio, one of her songs were playing which was deja vu in a way. I didn't get to find out much details since I was in a hurry, but I just know that the news impacted everyone...fast!
Whitney Houston was discovered unconscious in the bathtub at her Beverly Hilton hotel room. For Grammy weekend festivities, she was supposed to attend Clive Davis' big pre-Grammy party that was also at the Beverly Hilton hotel, 4 floors under her room. She was also working with singers Monica and Brandy on their performance for the Grammy's. Everyone said she looked tired and disheveled. Whitney was currently on the prescription drug Xanax that causes drowsiness, amongst others. Mixed with alcohol, both can have serious effects. She was found in the bathrub, unconscious, until paramedics declared she was dead.
The shocking news went viral fast! No one expected this to happen to the beloved Whitney Houston. Making a splash in the 80's, she was a straight hit amongst the masses. Not only did she have raw talent, one of the best voices in music history, but she was beautiful. The type of beauty that was a great mix of sex appeal and gorgeousness. It is said that her marriage to bad boy Bobby Brown was one of the biggest mistake she could've made personally and career wise. Many have seemed to blame the constant drug abuse to his ways, spiraling her life out of control. Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown were always on the tabloids for their drug abuses, which made people wonder what happened to America's Sweetheart.
With the sad news that broke headlines yesterday afternoon, it shows how fast life can come and pass us by. Whitney Houston was such a beautiful woman with great talent that many stars today looked up to. The world definitely lost a star, but her music and inspiration will live on forever. Rest in peace Whitney Houston!

REGENERATION MUSIC PROJECT HOLLYWOOD PREMIERE
Working for such a cool media company such as I do comes with a lot of perks. One is having the opportunity to attend movie premieres! Last night, I went to the Re:Generation Music Project World Premiere at the Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood. It was super official! There was a big red carpet, flashing lights lights lights everywhere!
Before entering the building, I saw Simon Rex! He is a hottie! The music documentary is about how 5 world renown DJ's who recreate five different styles of music. In association with the Grammy's, DJ Premier, Mark Ronson, Skrillex, Pretty Lights, and The Crystal Method were each given 5 styles of music into which they had to remix and come with a sound all their own. DJ Premier had classical, Mark Ronson had Jazz, Skrillex had Rock, Pretty Lights had country, and The Crystal Method had R&B.
Not really knowing these artists beforehand, I came to respect so many of them as artists who can take a sound and make it their own. All of their creative processes were amazing, and their individual personalities definitely made me like them on a personal level. After the film was a Q&A session with the DJ's with KCRW's Jason Bentley. Hearing his voice and seeing him in person was a surreal experience. I was very star struck with Mark Ronson who was looking pretty dapper, and Pretty Lights (aka Derek) was very tall!
Check out the trailer:

Such perfect timing with the Grammy's coming up this weekend. This film is being shown for two days only in select theaters around the U.S. February 16th and 23rd! Get your tickets now! http://www.regenerationmusicproject.com/#section6

OMARION: Nice Clothing Pieces, Subpar Execution Into An Outfit
What could have made Omarion look better? Change sweater and shirt color to BLACK, keep the bowtie, smaller neck jewelry, acne medicine. VOILA!!!!! |
Despite what some people thought about Omarion's outfit at the pre-Grammy and the Afterparty as being 'horrible,' 'eye-gouging,' and other quite derogatory words, I do have to give OMARION credit for at least picking out nice individual pieces, like these below that he wore. The Fendi belt is for $410 and the Christian Louboutin Rantus Orlato for $695.
But the execution in putting these pieces all together seemed to ruin the whole look. Simply put: LESS IS MORE. Whenever anyone tries to put on too many colors and try to look flashy, the actual look is 'TACKY,' which was how Omarion looked. Omarion could have done away by wearing more darker pieces (preferably black), allowing JUST THE TWO BELOW PIECES to 'bling' through.
Whenever you have a colorful accessory, NEVER add more than one more colorful piece to your look.

I say "BAAAAAM!!!" *LoL*
RIHANNA's Shock Of Red Hair To Be The Show of the GRAMMYs
Despite battling bronchitis and laryngitis, RIHANNA and her hair (a whole separate 'person' LoL) are expecting to perform at the 2011 GRAMMYs. She is expected to perform with Drake (above pic taken Feb. 12). Rihanna's beautiful white dress is a calm contrast to her wild, wild red hair. I will be keeping coverage, LIVE coverage on Twitter of the GRAMMYs.
