MTV MOVIE AWARDS 2012 RECAP

Last night was the 21st Annual MTV Movie Awards here in Studio City, California of course. The awards ceremony was hosted by Russell Brand. It was quite a eventful year for Russell Brand, with his highly publicized divorce from Katy Perry. But besides that, he stars in the upcoming musical "Rock of Ages", so talk about movie promotion! I feel with this year's show, there was really no room for a host. Yes he did his monologue in the beginning, but he was like M.I.A. during the entire show...but it's not like I cared or anything, just an observation.

Here's the list of winners from the night. It was nice seeing a few new categories thrown in there:

Movie of the Year: “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1.”

Best Male Performance: Josh Hutcherson, “The Hunger Games.”

Best Female Performance: Jennifer Lawrence, “The Hunger Games.”

Breakthrough Performance: Shailene Woodley, “The Descendants.”

Best Comedic Performance: Melissa McCarthy, “Bridesmaids.”

Best Cast: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Tom Felton, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2.”

Best Hero: Harry Potter, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2.”

Best Music: LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem,” ‘’21 Jump Street.”

Best Kiss: Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1.”

Best Fight: Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson vs. Alexander Ludwig, “The Hunger Games.”

Best On-Screen Dirtbag: Jennifer Aniston, “Horrible Bosses.”

Best On-Screen Transformation: Elizabeth Banks, “The Hunger Games.”

Best Gut-Wrenching Performance: Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper, “Bridesmaids.”

MTV Trailblazer Award: Emma Stone.

MTV Generation Award: Johnny Depp.

This awards show was actual pretty enjoyable for me. There were a few standout moments:

1) FUN opened up the show with their hit song "We Are Young". Man, does the lead singer have a voice on him! White boy can SANG!

2) Chris Hemsworth is HOT! Before I thought Liam was hands down the hotter younger brother, BUT after seeing Chris Hemsworth while presenting the award, my jaw seriously DROPPED! He is a GOD!

3) Wiz Khalifa's performance just because he did an ode to classic rock when he rocked a Joan Jett tank and the signature Steven Tyler decorated mic stand with colorful scarves.

4) Joe Manganiello showed up in his Magic Mike attire when Elizabeth Banks won her award. FIRE!

5) Kristen Stewart. How awkward is she? I was freakin embarrassed for her, especially when she won the award (again) for Best Kiss with Robert Pattinson and she was on-stage solo. No one wanted to accompany her, and she was just really weird...again. Awkward turtle anyone?

6) Emma Stone awarded the MTV Trailblazer Award. Who doesn't love that girl? Not only is she a good actress, but I truly do respect celebs that speak eloquently. She did a heartfelt speech on being independent and doing what you love...very inspiring.

7) Johnny Depp performing with The Black Keys. He was also awarded the MTV Generation Award, but honestly, how much better can Johnny Depp get? He's very handsome, a great actor, AND a musician. YOU GO JOHNNY DEPP!

8) Christian Bale quietly breaking down during the presentation of The Dark Knight highlights from the past two films whilst remembering Heath Ledger. Though I initially thought he had a really hard exterior from his less than stellar personality heard around town, to see that emotional side made me weak inside! We will always remember you Heath Ledger!

What were your highlights of the night?

Emma Stone

Emily Jean Stone was born on November 6th 1988 in Scottsdale, Arizona. She's  an American actress.
She first appeared in a stage production The Wind in the Willows at the early age of 11 as a member of the Valley Youth Theatre(a regional theater in Phoenix, Arizona).  Emma attended the Sequoya Elementary School and the Cocopah Middle School for the 6th grade.
Then she was home schooled for 2 years while she appeared in 16 productions at the Valley Youth Theatre.  She attended Xavier College Preparatory an all girl Catholic High School as a freshman for one semester.  I guess she wasn't havin it because around that time she gave a PowerPoint presentation to her parents set to the Madonna song "Hollywood" just to convince them to move to California to start acting.
Dropping out in 2004 she moved to a apartment in Los Angeles with her mother at the age of 15.  Auditioning during the day and home schooling at night.  Apparently it paid off after appearing in the TV movie The New Partridge Family and shows Medium,The Suite Life of Zack & Cody,Malcolm in the Middle,Lucky Louie and 7 episodes of Drive(1 unaired).
Then she was in the movie Superbad!  That may have been the first time I saw her acting but there was something about her, that made her stick out as an actress?  Though the movie was of acquired taste, I thought she did very well.  She was great in  The House Bunny along with the rest of the actresses that movie was hilarious!  I liked her in Paper Man even though the movie kind of sucked.
She was also good in Zombieland and Easy A.  I'm curious to see  her in The Amazing Spider-Man even though it's been done and redone again and again.  I still wouldn't mind seeing it, if only to see her performance.
A little more about Emma, her mother Krista (née Yeager) homemaker, her father  Jeff Stone a contractor.  She has a brother that is 2 years younger Spencer Stone.  Her fathers grandfather was of Swedish descent.  The name Stone was anglicized  when immigrating to the U.S. through Ellis Island.
Some of her ancestors also lived in Pennsylvania Dutch Country.  You might not know it but Emma Stone but her hair color is naturally blonde.
After dying her her hair brunette film producer Judd Apatow had her change her hair color to be a red head in Superbad.  In The Amazing Spider-Man she goes back to her original  hair color.  On the set she met actor Andrew Garfield and they started dating.
Her family and friends call her Emily.  She got the name Emma Stone when she registered for the Screen Actors Guild and found out that the name Emily Stone was already taken.  She has a low-pitched kind of husky voice as a result from having baby colic which is a condition of constant screaming as an infant that  results in the development of nodules.  She now has calluses on her vocal cords.  I believe she resides in Greenwich Village, New York.

VIOLA DAVIS Graces Her S.A.G. Win In Angelic MARCHESA Gown

18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Arrivals

Congrats to VIOLA DAVIS for winning one of the coveted spots for Screen Actors Guild Awards, leading role for Actress (for her role in 'The Help')! Her reaction to the win was priceless; I felt her triumphant spirit as well as her humbleness as she made her way, close-lipped, to the stage.

Viola's skin positively glowed under the lights, or perhaps the win actually made her skin glow (sometimes that can happen) as she gathered her words carefully. All Viola could've done was just stand there in her glorious MARCHESA gown and that would just be enough. Makeup and antiqued gold accessories further enhanced the gown and fit her perfectly, like a beautiful African princess.

See the other castmembers of 'The Help':

CRAZY.STUPID.LOVE.

I finally saw the movie Crazy.Stupid.Love with Steve Carrell, Julianne Moore, Ryan Gosling, and Emma Stone. It was a good movie, was pretty dragged out, but had a great overall message. BEAR WITH ME BECAUSE I WILL USE THE ACTORS' REAL NAMES IN THIS SYNOPSIS. Basically, Julianne Moore cheats on her husband Steve Carrell which causes her to file for divorce. Being depressed, Steve just drinks at the bar pouring his heart out to anyone and everyone, when he notices Ryan Gosling, a so-called "man-whore" who has all this game in taking home anyone and every woman he meets. Realizing how desperate Steve Carrell is, he offers to help his game. Sooner or later Carrell gets his mojo back and ends up sleeping with a few women. But what he realizes is that being a player isn't what he wants, he wants his wife back.

The message I got out of the story was how far we'd go to fight for our soulmate. I mean I know I'm too young to exactly know who my soulmate is, but I know what I want out of life. I know I am not a player who tries to get back at someone by messing around with random guys. When I really feel for someone, I am all up for keeping that one person in my focus because I can forever be happy with that one person.

I feel so many guys and girls I may say are caught up on the physical aspect of things. Of course that's important, but a real connection is so much more stronger than that. Looks may fade, but that special chemistry doesn't. Why try to find something wrong and make a bigger deal of something, when in comparison to many other problems, it's so miniscule.

I know for a fact that anyone who has been truly in love and in a relationship for a good amount of time will not lose feelings for that person right away, no matter how hard they may try to go out and live that single life. Yes you may drown yourself in that world by hooking up or flirting or talking to a whole bunch of people, but in the long run, is it truly satisfying? How satisfying is it to come home after your "crazy" night out, and knowing that your alone and knowing for a fact that nothing will come out of what just happened. Was that moment of fun worth it?

These are things that have come to my mind while watching this movie. To all those who are still in love with someone you may have broken up with or got into some sort of break with, if you still really care about that person, stop being so proud and let them know how you feel no matter how stupid you may sound. I may be too proud to ever do that myself, but I just know what I feel and it's not going away...

EMMA STONE REVEALS HER GIRL CRUSH

Though Emma Stone is dating her co-star Andrew Garfield from Spider-Man, she's open to having more than friendly thoughts with the female gender. In the new issue of Advocate, her answer is none other than Mad Men star Christina Hendricks. She tells, "It's a no-brainer. Everything about her does it for me. That's my kind of woman."

This may also raise some eyebrows when Chelsea Handler jokingly asked her if she had a girlfriend since Stone dodged the boyfriend question on her show Chelsea Lately. Stone then replied, "No, I don't have a girlfriend. But who knows? You love who you love."

In talking about future roles aside from her three summer flicks [Friends with Benefits; Crazy, Stupid Love; and The Help], Stone admitted to wanting to play a lesbian one day. She says, "Send me over a good script. That sounds amazing."

So could this possibly mean that Emma Stone is at least open to the idea of being a bi-sexual? I mean it's normal for straight girls, even guys, to have crushes on their own gender. There's nothing wrong with thinking the same sex is attractive without crossing that barrier. Some of my crushes are Giselle Bundchen, Jennifer Lopez, and Shakira amongst others. One thing for sure is that Emma Stone will make a hot lesbian!!!

MTV MOVIE AWARDS 2011 RED CARPET

Last night the MTV MOVIE AWARDS took place at the Gibson Amphitheatre. Blowing up the red carpet in summer fashion were plenty of mini dresses and French designer to look out for: BALMAIN.

LEIGHTON MEESTER literally shined in a silver Balmain mirror mini dress with long sleeves. This reminds me of JLo's Grammy dress from earlier this year.

MILA KUNIS kept it simple in Balmain with an embellished mini-skirt and blousy black top. No wonder Justin Timberlake couldn't keep his hands off her.

KRISTEN STEWART finally puts in some effort into her rocker persona with a Balmain strapless mini decorated with pins, studs, and rhinestones.

ROSIE HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY is seriously on every red carpet nowadays, but brought out her animal side in this Dolce & Gabbana tiger print dress.

EMMA STONE, back to her beautiful red-headedness matches this Bottega Veneta sheer lace dress perfectly.

EMMA WATSON looks so chic in this white silk Marchesa mini with embellished neckline and shoulders. She looks great in this hairstyle and can't wait to see her in the final Harry Potter installment!

SELENA GOMEZ brings the sunshine in this Giambattista Valli printed top and skirt. She's so beautiful and put together all the time!

BLAKE LIVELY keeps it sleek and simple in a blue Michael Kors dress, very contrary to the recent naked pics surfacing on the internet.

REESE WITHERSPOON takes home the Generation Award and dresses to impress in a black and gray leopard print Zac Posen bustier dress. Yes, she doesn't have to take off her clothes to earn attention everybody!!!

EASY A - DON'T BE SOMETHING YOU'RE NOT

So I finally watched the movie EASY A! I've actually been wanting to see that for awhile and haven't until now!!! I mean you know the story...a girl helps her gay friend out by pretending to have sex with him which makes him the popular guy in high school. This turns into all the "unpopular" boys in high school using her to make themselves popular, by "saying" she hooked up with them even though she hasn't...A BIZARRE TWIST INDEED.

Some of the storylines were based off other movies, but most notably the infamous book turned movie The Scarlet Letter, hence the big red EASY A Olive [Emma Stone] wears. She soon finds out that helping all these guys by pretending to be a "slut" wasn't exactly all it's made out to be. She soon had the bad reputation in high school for doing things she didn't even do in reality, but it gets worse when this guy was actually trying to hook up with her because of her "whore" reputation. This makes her sick game turn into reality, and makes her want to turn a new leaf and come out with the truth.

But this had me thinking...What are guys really into? Of course when you're younger, it's cool to be "experienced" when it comes to hooking up, but is it really?! Or is the facade that hooking up is the cool thing to do. There's nothing to brag about when it comes to that, what's really genuine is being yourself and having other people see the real you not be influenced by outside forces. At first guys want the experienced girl, but when they look for "wifey" material, they want the somewhat "clean/innocent" girl. It's dumb that guys have double standards, they can't even follow themselves...Is being an independent female a trait men want, to the extent where they can't express their sexual opinions and fulfill their desires?! I think even though men say they want an independent female, they also want a woman who they know depends on them too. The point is, to not lose sight of yourself and your own personal values when it comes to the "trends" or the opposite sex because in time, someone will appreciate you for those individual qualities that are unlike others.
