USHER Goes Clean-Shaven!! Err... Looks like A Young Morgan Freeman!!

Usher

SURPRISE!!!!

Usher tweeted a pic that showed he cut off all his facial hair recently. Now, i don't know what you ladies have to say about this, but from a guy's point of view, I would say JUST GROW A LITTLE OF IT BACK Usher, if you trying to go for a clean look.

I.E. Having just a mustache, or trimmed chin hair, qualifies as CLEAN-CUT.

But this is a lil' much. The 'AFTER' pic of Usher makes him look like a young Morgan Freeman!!!

Who Wore The Best Outfit to GQ's Gentleman Ball-- Brad Goreski or Ashton Kutcher?

Bringing you more men's fashion, this time directly from the GQ's Gentleman's Ball.

Who wore it best, Brad Goreski or Ashton Kutcher?
Comment, comment, comment either on here, on Facebook, or Twitter.

FASHIONISTA-wise, Brad Goreski is the best dresser with his light gray chalk pinstriped blazer, dark gray plaid pants, and very pointy gray wingtips matching the blazer. Noticeable accessory is the Tom Ford glasses.

ALL-AROUND American fashion goes to Ashton Kutcher, and he is also my pick because this is a comfortable look a lot of guys would be willing to go for. Just get rid of the BEANIE, and then Ashton's look will be perfect. I like the weathered brown shoes because it shows long term ess and sophisication as compared to brand-new shoes which may look like one is JUST WEARING IT FOR THE EVENT.

Julia Roberts

Happy Birth Julia! Julia Fiona Roberts was born on this day October 28th 1967.  Her claim to fame is when she headlined with the ever famous movie Pretty Woman.  Which, by the way grossed over $464 million worldwide!  That same year she won  golden globe awards for Steel Magnolias and Pretty Woman back in 1989.
Julia was named one of People magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People in the World 11 times.  Apparently she is tied with Halle Berry in that category.
Julia Roberts has the production company called Red Om Films.

Check out Justin Bieber.... with his SWAGGER and SWAGGERIFIC new whip.

Bieber already has his style game together with his denim vest, red jeans, and Supra sneakers, but the real style is behind him: the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V. It has been fully customized to Bieber's specifications. It was painted matte black, matte black rims, tinted windows, suicide doors, and named 'BATMOBILE' (clever BAT sign on the grille).

Bet Justin has a BAT-CAVE too...

LACMA - TIM BURTON EXHIBIT

Finally I managed to find some time to check out the Tim Burton Exhibit at LACMA before it leaves on Halloween out of all days! I would have to say what I really know Tim Burton from is from Nightmare Before Christmas, one of my favorite movies! It is so interesting and creepy at the same time.

Though I had an idea of the work Tim Burton was known for, I didn't know he was involved with so many movies such as the Batman trilogy, Planet of the Apes, and Mars Attacks! Despite having the $20 entrance free for one exhibit, it was truly fascinating to say the least. The exhibit contained basically everything Tim Burton form works he did from when he was a little kid, to all his movie works, which mainly contain his "muse" and children's godfather Johnny Depp along with his wife and other muse Helena Bonham Carter.

Many of the exhibit contained his drawings which consisted mostly of pencil and pen sketches which were so detail oriented! All his characters had these creepy stories which were alarming in an odd, fun way that you were instantly intrigued. What the exhibit also contained were costumes from the movies he did such as Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Mars Attacks, and Sleepy Hollow. I think why this exhibit is such a popular attraction is because of how out of the box his thinking was, to the extent where anyone can relate to, even though they may think they're not into "dark" stuff. All of his works contain satire which despite it's creepy story, makes you laugh at the end and want more. Seeing this exhibit just made me want to find out more about him and watch all his movies again.

See it before it leaves HALLOWEEN!!!

Fash, Crash, and Burn: SERENA WILLIAMS As a 'Hot Mess' at Tower Heist Movie Premiere

This is actually Serena Williams.

No, it's not a man in drag but it's actually one of the athletes in the WORLD looking like a tranny gone all wrong. The entire look deserves to be in my 'Fash, Crash, Burn' category.

I'm out of words. This don't make no doggone sense!! A HOT MESS!! Only the shoes look decent.

Ladies, Here's A Great Fall Outerwear Look, As Displayed By Pippa Middleton (UK)

Pippa Middleton Socialite Pippa Middleton is seen strolling through Chelsea.

PIPPA MIDDLETON has gained tremendous popularity over her more royal sister Kate. So paparazzi captured her seemingly innocent beauty as she strolled through the cool air of the UK.

Pippa wore a thigh-length wool blend zip coat dolled up with a leopard scarf. The saddle-colored suede boots are a nice touch and it softly complements the rust orange bag she's carrying.

Ladies who live in a seasonal or cold climates, if you haven't tried this look, I strongly believe it will look good on you, even more so if you 'SHOW A LITTLE LEG' even in the cold months.

BEYONCE Shows Off Growing Baby Bump In NYC; Looks Very Fashionable In Turquoise and... High Heels!

BEYONCE continues to not respond to rumors about a BABY BUMP PAD (that's good because she needs to focus on her pregnancy), but all good responses, especially from me, point to Beyonce's hott street couture today. Wearing comfortable leggings, tall black heels (pretty bold for a pregnant woman), and a turquoise detachable-bottom leather jacket with matching scarf,

BEYONCE, mama-to-be, was on point!

"YOU BECOME WHAT YOU BELIEVE"

I know I've heard this countless times, but I'm writing about it because I saw this on Oprah's LiveStream at work today titled nothing other than "You Become What You Believe". This caught my eye because I am a firm believer in that, though it can be difficult to keep that positive energy surrounding yourself all the time.

There have definitely been times where I would do the pity me talk, and feel sorry for myself and question my purpose in life especially when I didn't have an official job for the start of 2011. With my job that therefore led to a job I currently have and I love, came great opportunity. Not only do I truly enjoy what I'm doing, but blogging and all the writing I have been doing for free is now paying off because now I'm a Main Contributor for a magazine that is launching in November.

Reflecting on everything, it's crazy to think how life can provide so many blessings and opportunities. When I talk to people and find out what they do or aspire to be, it's low key heartbreaking to see them pursue something they're not really enthused about, just because it makes good money. Like why go to the medical field? Because you're parents want you to? Or why be an accountant if you hate it and find it boring? Because it's a safe job? These are not, I repeat NOT good reasons to pursue a career.

Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I was meant to do something big. Of course I didn't know what it would be, but I knew God had something big in store for me. Though I've changed what I officially wanted to do in my life quite a few times, I feel like I'm slowly starting to adjust what I'm meant to do and taking that direction. There is nothing wrong with a bit trial and error people! Because without trying, you will never experience failure, and the motivation to get back up and try even harder to get to that place you aim to be at.

Positive thinking can take us to so many places in life. The secret which should seem pretty obvious is to speak great things into your life. What good does it do to call yourself a failure? Because the more you keep with the negativity, the more you're going to believe that you are a failure and everything you do will seem like it never takes off. If I had to pick whether to be a person filled with positive energy, I would definitely live that way instead of in the dumps. So remember..."You become what you believe."

Do You Like DRAKE's Blue Tunic That He Wore To His 25th B-Day Party?

Rapper Drake sported a new look on his 25th BDAY at TAO Nightclub.

Dude wore a blue tunic-inspired shirt that had this very MIAMI VICE vibe. He even rocked a gold chain and watch (scaled back the beard, too).

LIKE?? 'Cuz uhh... really not my style, but I'd go for the glasses.

D-WADE Mentions In GQ's Nov. 2011 Issue That He Painted (Or Still Paints) His Toenails Black!

Dwyane Wade in V Man Fall 2011 issue

For those of you who follow up on fashion and athletes alike, you will know that NBA athletes are becoming more and more image-conscious. Miami Heat's very own Dwyane Wade is one of those image-conscious guys.

D-WADE mentioned in GQ's November 2011 issue that 'Man, I kind of want to paint my toenails black,' and that shocked me a little bit. I had to 'catch myself' because I had to remember that we actually live in a day and age where the influences of hip-hop (baggy jeans, Timberlands, THUG LIFE look) are slowly diminishing and a more softer look (no pun intended) is now becoming dominant.

What I mean by 'softer' is that guys are increasingly paying no mind to the 'RULES OF BEING A MAN' and are starting to wear more colognes and smell-good body sprays, more fitted shirts and jeans, colorful bracelets AND AN EXTREME IN D-WADE'S CASE: nail polish!

I don't think I'll ever go that far *LOL* but if D-Wade likes it, okay.

GQ's November 2011 Issue Is In + D-WADE Mentions That He Paints his Toenails Black!!

eminem gq november 2011 01

The GQ November 2011 issue is in! And while I love this magazine so much (I have a subscription) and want to model for it so bad I can taste it, I want to point out the art of the cover.

Check out the '3 genres of music' posted right on GQ's cover: DETROIT's own Eminem, Keith Richards, and Lil' Wayne. I call this art because these so-called music legends have very different styles of belting out songs, but they all seem intertwined into making people feel like ROCKIN'!

Not only that (because my blog doesn't cover music, just people in fashion), check out these guys' individual style. Eminem BLEEDS and REEKS of Detroit style. You can't get past the hoodie, black tee, dark denim jeans, and boots.

Keith Richards has got his own kind of old-money style with the open shirt, scarf, top hat, slacks, and simple shoes.

Lil' Wayne has that wild, West coast style with the leather jeans, white beater, and YELLOW Vans sneakers. The dreadlocks add a little Southern flavor.

I'm diggin' this variety of looks so guys of all ages, shapes, and sizes across America can get the full spectrum of the American man.

Check my next post of Dwyane Wade in GQ's November 2011 issue with his pics, and how he likes to paint his toenails black!

French fries

French fries (American English, with "French" often capitalized), or chips, fries, or French-fried potatoes are thin strips of deep-fried potato.North Americans refer to any elongated pieces of fried potatoes as fries, while in the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand, long, thinly cut slices of fried potatoes are often called fries to distinguish them from the (more) thickly cut strips called chips.French fries are known as frites, patates frites or pommes frites in French, a name which is also used in many non-French-speaking areas, and have names that mean "fried potatoes" or "French potatoes" in others. This is a Belgian culinary specialty.

BRIA MURPHY for MAXIM Magazine (And My Guide to a Woman's Basic Black Swimsuit, from a Male Perspective)

Eddie Murphy's 21-year-old daughter BRIA MURPHY is all grown up and showing that she is, in November's issue of MAXIM Magazine. In my now-cold hometown of Detroit, MI, swimsuits like Bria's aren't really necessary here..

BUT for all of you in warm climates (even the beautiful women in Detroit who may be going on vacation), you can't go wrong in a basic black swimsuit (above). If you're a little 'THICK' or have some junk in the trunk, just easily pair a colorful sarong in contrast with your basic black swimsuit.

TO SUNNY DAYS!!!

Here's an excerpt of what she had to say to MAXIM:

Birthday: November 18, 1989

Go-To Drink: “I love moscato, but if I’m out partying with friends, I have to admit I like the PatrĂ³n.”

Favorite body part: “I’m most proud of my legs right now. Sometimes it’s my stomach. But lately I’ve been getting compliments on my legs.”

Hidden Talent: “I love to paint. It’s my work and my escape. One day I want to open a gallery and show people what I can do.”

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were recently on a Barbara Walters special, and they showed their 6-month old babies, Moroccan and Monroe, to the world. And might I add that the whole family is stylish.

Check out Mariah with her tan tunic with gold beading and embroidery at the shoulders and front.

Moroccan looks adorable and EDIBLE in all-white.

Monroe looks equally EDIBLE and handsome in his little cashmere pea coat.

Nick is his usual self with the bright smile and dapper gray suit.

ONYX LOUNGE - SLEEK & CLASSY

So I was doing extensive research about a good spot to go to on a Thursday night which is not easy! As you know in L.A., it's really about who you know, and I wouldn't exactly call myself the "Jack of All Trades". The people I went with wanted a lounge-y spot where there is dancing, which again wasn't necessarily easy to find in Los Angeles on a Thursday.

That's when I decided to go to Onyx Lounge, mainly because I saw they had a late night Happy Hour from 10PM-Close. I was so surprised that this place was not packed at all, especially because it was basically 10PM and I was in a rush to get there on our scheduled RSVP which we were 30 minutes late for! The man who seated us and our waitress were the best! They had the best personalities and were very knowledgeable with everything that's on the menu. They're recommendations for food and drinks were impeccable, I enjoyed everything I tried there.

I ordered the Sparkling Cocktail: Dita
Sour Cocktail: Papa Doble and FIDM Cup
Food: Spicy Garlic Fries and Chicken Croquette

The Papa Doble, the first drink of the night I ordered was AMAZING! I could probably drink this all day. It was very tasty, yet strong, but very fresh. The Dita was also very good, it was pretty girly and sweet. The FIDM Cup was very different, it was okay but not in my usual taste interest. As for the food, everyone basically ordered the Spicy Garlic Fries, which were awesome and made your breath smelled like straight up garlic. The Chicken Croquette was also amazing, which came with Almond Aioli.

As for the entertainment, there was a man who had such a great voice. He was playing an instrument, and I swear he can make any song his own. I loved it, and I loved Onyx Lounge for it's sleek and classy affair. Everyone needs to check it out and I will definitely go back!

THE CHURCHILL - DARK HORSE

So I was pleased to go to a Soft Opening of The Churchill this past Wednesday with my co-workers. First I was stressing out because of the parking situation, it is literally impossible to find a parking spot in that area because of so many shops/eateries and permit parking only types going on. Luckily, The Churchill has complementary valet with validation!

Walking in, the place is totally decorated with a mix of modern/old school elements. The basic outlay is made of dark wood with wooden tables and dark leather couches with studded detailing. Since it was a soft opening, the place was pretty packed so I had the pleasure of enjoying the complementary wines/beers. Being that I'm a classy lady, I opted for the white wine which was pretty good. I wouldn't call myself a wine or beer person, but if I had to pick it would definitely be wine, white wine too. I just feel like all wines and beers taste the same, but anyways...

The Churchill is two stories with similar decor, very dimly lit. A cool factoid is that they have the only woodfire oven pizza maker that still exists. It can make pizzas in three minutes! Upstairs is also a photobooth where you can take pics for $3, and a DJ was also present for the event though the music was hard to hear since it was so loud in there. I need to come back here for their food which all looked delicious, but from the little taste I've encountered, this will definitely be a spot to come back to.
